Proof of Life

Here's proof that I haven't been idle while having enforced non-blog time.

Another Soviet LMG stand first up for Jim's ongoing WWII project. I'll be basing some more painted figures soon as well. Individual infantry and command figures, as well as some more artillery stands.

This chap below is an experiment for creating Bavarian cavalry which I've committed to paint up for the club's Borodino project next year. As I don't like the commercially available Bavarian, I'm trying my hand at converting some. I've used the versatile Italeri French Light Cavalry set for the bodies, and the HaT Wurttemberg artillery set for the head. I'll give him a plume and a sash to finish it off.

Even though his Raupenhelm probably tall enough, I think it's an aceptable approximation. Now all I need to do is collect enough Chasseur bodies to complete the project. I might put a call out for more if any of you 1/72nd collectors have any spares floating around.

  3. I'll have a look around - I might have some spare Chasseurs that are a burden on the parish.

Also, your shermans arrived today. Lovely kits, really nice.

  8. The LMG team is nicely done. I think I recognize the gunner as an ESCI figure but I don't recognize the make of the loader. Where'd you get him from? A conversion?
    Cheers,

    1. Thanks Mike.

The figures are Plastic Soldier Company figures. I'm slowly painting a whole bunch of them for a friend, including infantry, command, heavy weapons and artillery..

  9. I keep looking at the camo job on the cutting mat, as I am often tempted to use those somehow for the terrain.

    1. Years of paint spillages on that mat. Maybe in another decade I'll have full bocage and shell craters? :)
